Condition grading guide
Every listing has two parts: how it looks (the grade) and what's included. The photos are of the actual copy you'll get, front, back and label, so you can judge for yourself.
How it looks
| Grade | What it means | Good to know |
|---|---|---|
| Like new | Looks almost new: no scuffs worth mentioning, label bright and whole, no writing or stickers. | The nicest copies we get; often from collectors. |
| Very good | Light signs of use: small marks you see up close, a clean label with at most tiny edge wear. | Most of our stock. Looks great on a shelf. |
| Good | Clearly used: scuffs, light fading or small label tears, maybe a faint name on the back. | A player’s copy at a lower price. Every flaw that matters is in the notes and photos. |
| Fair | Heavy wear: torn or faded label, writing, rental stickers or residue. | Cheapest working copies. Look at the photos closely. |
| For parts | Doesn’t work, or we couldn’t test it. Sold as is. | For repairs, spare parts or display. Not covered by "doesn’t work" returns. |
Tested and working
A copy marked Tested and working was played on a real console before we listed it: it starts, plays and responds to the controller. For cartridges with a save battery we check that it keeps a save. Contacts are cleaned first.
"Not tested" copies say so on the listing. If a tested copy doesn't work when it arrives, return it through the marketplace you bought it on (on eBay: "Return this item" in your purchase history) and we'll make it right.
What's included
Real photos
We photograph every copy ourselves. What you see is what arrives, never a stock picture. Where a page shows box art instead, it says so. Want another angle? Ask us and we'll send more photos.
